The Symposium features more than three dozen Britten and British music specialists, a performance of the WAR REQUIEM, the American première of Tony Palmer's new Britten Centenary film "Nocturne," an evening of Britten's song cycles, folksongs, and Purcell realisations, a dance recital of première choreography set to live performances of Britten's music, two "Box Lunch Britten" recitals in the tradition of Dame Myra Hess's lunchtime recitals in London, a semi-staged reading of Alan Bennett's "The Habit of Art," a month-long Exhibition curated in association with Aldeburgh Music and Boydell & Brewer, and an optional one-day choral intensive workshop focused on Britten's choral legacy concurrent with the scholarly conference.
